One-Liner April 24, 2009 Minimize

Dear Family and Friends
WORD
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (II Cor.6:14) “Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for My yoke is easy, and My burden light.” (Matt. 11:29-30)
WISDOM
Just as 2 oxen are yoked together with a wooden brace over their shoulders to insure that they combine their strengths and move in the same direction, so also it is best for a man and woman who are considering being “yoked” together in marriage for a lifetime, to insure that the yoke that bonds them together is their faith in Jesus Christ. With this bond, they can move ahead spiritually in the same direction toward Godly life goals, joyfully combining their different skills and strengths. Without this bond, their marriage might resemble 2 yoked oxen trying to move in different directions!

Pre-marital counseling, like “preventative medication”, can prepare the couple to see and deal with their individual differences.
WIT
Home Sweet Home” is a sign in many homes, but in our imperfect world, there’s a new one that says, “So It’s NOT Home Sweet Home, Adjust!”

WELLSPRING
“Enjoying Haiku Insight-Out”

Mature married love,
Like 2 independent trees,
Each could stand alone.

A WORK of the Lord in Japan.

It is not uncommon for students at Bible Schools to discover a mate for marriage among their classmates. As they “seek first His Kingdom”, God often shows them a lifetime partner for their journey together in Him. One such couple is Yoshinobu and Tomoko Kimura-san (below). He now works in market-place ministry, and Tomoko-san is on the CFN-Japan office Staff.

Another such couple are Masahito and Mayumi Fujii-san (above, with baby). Couples, as well as single grads, are seen in the CFN-Japan Alumni Newsletter, which is sent out regularly, so that Graduates can keep in touch. Please pray for all CFN-Japan students and graduates, and for Christian marriages throughout Japan.

Standing together with you looking to the Lord,

Charles and Dianne Gyurko
