Dear Family and Friends,

Let’s look at steps #5 and #6 in making a covenant: a walk between the sacrifice, and
                                                                                     a mark on the body.
WORD
“Whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s, will save it.” (Mk.8:35).  “He who does not take his cross and follow Me, is not worthy of Me”. (Mt.10:38) “Having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spiritof promise”. (Eph.1:13)
WISDOM
Above is a road in Bolivia called “The Road of Death”, for obvious reasons. Similarly, when people of old make a covenant, their walk between the bloody sacrifice they just made, was called a “walk of death”, to show the level of their commitment to each other. So also, when we choose to follow Christ, we offer Him no less than our very lives, just as He did for us!

Ancient covenant makers then made a mark on their bodies, but the “mark” we receive from Jesus is the “seal” of His Holy Spirit in our hearts. Our spiritual covenant mark is real. Others may not see it with their eyes, but our lives should reveal it.

WIT
When a child was asked, “Where is God?”, he answered, “In my bathroom.” When asked why he thought so, the child said, “…because my daddy stands in front of the bathroom and says, “My God, how long will you be in there?”

WELLSPRING

High flying eagle,
With the whole sky to yourself,
Are you lonely too?

A WORK of the Lord in Japan.

We all begin our “covenant walk” with Jesus when we are saved. In Japan some choose to deepen their understanding and relationship with Jesus by studying His Word at CFN-Japan Bible School, where their “covenant walk” may take them from the classroom to the streets, to share the Good News of Jesus.

CFN-J students share in a “March for Jesus” with other believers in Kyoto city, where there are many Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and mountain top statues dedicated to false deities. In your prayers, please join with CFN-J students and all believers in Japan, to BREAK the grip of the enemy, declaring God’s Word, “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.” (I John 3:8) “God gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (I Cor.15:57)

Standing together with you looking to the Lord,

Charles and Dianne Gyurko
