One-Liner August 31, 2007
Dear Family and Friends, We hope you’re ready for another refreshing Weekend One-Liner. |
WORD | God tested Abraham, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love, and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on the mountain. Abraham bound his son, and took the knife to slay his son, but the angel of the Lord said, ‘Do not lay a hand on the boy’.” (Gen. 22:2-12) |
WISDOM | Although God prevented Abraham from going to the limit of his love, God the Father Himself went beyond that limit in offering His Beloved Son Jesus, as a Sacrifice for our sins. Both the Father and the Son experienced pain. Some say “It’s not fair”. No, it isn’t fair to God, but that’s the degree of His Love for us individually. |

A WORK of the Lord in Japan. To portray to the public the reality of Jesus’ death and resurrection for us, students of Christ For The Nations-Japan Bible School participated in the “Jesus Parade” down the main street in the city of Sapporo (photo). Crowds were unprepared for such a clear and powerful demonstration of God’s love for us, while the Students of CFN-J confessed in their hearts, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…” (Rom. 1:16) Standing with you, thankful to the Lord, Charles and Dianne Gyurko |
