One-Liner December 21, 2007
, Dear Family and Friends, May your Christmas be not only a celebration of a past event, but also a participation in Jesus’ continuing presence among us now! |
WORD | “There is born to you this day…a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11) “The people who sat in darkness have seen a Great Light”. (Luke 2:32) |
WISDOM | The exact date of Jesus’ birth is not known, but when our Gregorian Calendar was decided centuries ago, men of faith chose to put the date of His birth on December 25th, because it is on this day that the daylight starts to get longer. This date fittingly commemorates the fact that Jesus, the Light of the World, HAS COME, and that His light is getting stronger! |
WIT | It’s a funny world! People go from an air-conditioned home, to an air-conditioned office, then go in an air-conditioned car to a Health Spa where they pay to sweat! |

A WORK of the Lord in Japan. At Christmas we’re used to seeing Jesus in a crib scene, but He was also carried, and probably slept, in His mother, Mary’s arms, just as in the photo below, which shows a mother, walking behind a banner in a “March for Jesus” in Sapporo City. For many years in the 1990’s, Christians in Japan participated in these worldwide marches, also called “Jesus Parade” in Japan. In the photo, students from CFN-Japan Bible School, and believers from local churches paraded in unity to witness to their faith in the Presence and Power of Jesus in our midst.
