One-Liner January 2, 2009

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy New Year to each of you!
WORD
“It is high time to awake out of sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. ” (Romans 13:11)
WISDOM
At New Years, people reflect on time and eternity, and imagine how long it might feel?  Just imagine if, every thousand years, a bird took one grain of dirt from a mountain (see picture).  How long would it take for the whole mountain to disappear? And when that happens, there are countless other mountains!

Our personal eternity begins when our spirit leaves our body at death. Each person will spend eternity either joyously exalted with God in Heaven, or in pain and desperation, separated from Him in Hell.

Our peace comes when we enter His Kingdom NOW, while on earth, through our faith in Jesus Christ, which assures our salvation for eternity. (See One-Liner dated 8-03-07 on the web site: www.cfnjapan.org)
WIT
Overheard in a business office, “My son doesn’t want an allowance anymore. He says he’d prefer an unencumbered grant.”

WELLSPRING
“Enjoying Haiku Insight-Out”

Using new machines,
Men blow leaves from their sidewalks.
The wind laughs…and waits!

Christ For The Nations-Japan Bible School works together with local churches to bring the Good News of salvation to all men. The school receives people from churches, trains them to know and to live God’s Word, and sends them back strengthened and empowered in the Holy Spirit to share Jesus, by word and example, with people in all situations. Your prayer support for Staff, Teachers, and Students at CFN-Japan is essential.

Standing together with you looking to the Lord,

Charles and Dianne Gyurko
