Dear Family and Friends,
To gain “Spiritual Fitness”, will we use the stairs or the escalator?
WORD
Bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come”. (I Tim. 4:8) “Build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit”. (Jude 20)
WISDOM
Nourishing our bodies through food, sleep, exercise, etc, is important, but nourishing our spirit that lives in the body, is far more important. Our spirit’s primary food is faith, which gives us God’s eternal life. After that, exercising our faith daily, by fulfilling God’s individual calling on our lives, in a spirit of love, joy, and peace, provides “…our daily bread” for the spirit’s growth.

We can measure the “fitness” of our spirit, not by comparing ourselves with others, but with Christ alone, in Whose image we are being formed, by willingly cooperating with our Trainer, the Holy Spirit, Who “guides us into all truth”. (John 16:13)

WIT
When a Pastor said to the Doctor, “My wife’s snoring is a problem”, the Doctor answered, “Is it bothering you?”  The Pastor replied, “Not just me, but  the whole congregation!”
WELLSPRING
“Enjoying Haiku Insight-Out”

Sun rays through the clouds,
Flash light spots on the ocean,
And then play checkers.

A WORK of the Lord in Japan.

Each year a new group of students of all ages begins at CFN-Japan to devote themselves to responsible Bible study, to prepare themselves for a life dedicated to the Lord’s purposes. They do this in obedience to His Word: “Be diligent to present yourselves approved to God, a worker…rightly dividing the Word of Truth”. (II Tim. 2:15)

At the opening ceremony new students (above) are prayed for by the Teachers, Staff, Board Members, and local Pastors. God desires that we all “come to a knowledge of the Son of God…to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph.4:15), and that we be “strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man (Eph.3:16).  Let’s join them on the journey to spiritual fitness, as “good soldiers of Jesus Christ” (II Tim.2:2), by praying right now.

Standing together with you looking to the Lord,
